Josh's Birthday was last Friday. He turned thirty years old this year. I am so amazed at how quickly time has past us by. When I met Josh, I was fifteen years old. At the time, I didn't know how much I needed him. Looking back now, I can see how Heavenly Father had a careful hand in bringing us together. Now here we are, nearly a decade and a half later, and I am still just as foolishly in love with him as I was when I was sixteen. I know I am lucky to have a man like this in my life. I compare myself to Eliza Doolittle on My Fair Lady. She was wildly uncivilized and terribly improper. She meets a Henry Higgins, who is quite the contrary. They fall in love as Higgins teaches Eliza to be proper. Well, maybe I am not just like Eliza. Afterall, she does appear quite proper in the end. Anyone who knows me, knows I am anything but proper. Nevertheless, changes I have made for the better, began in my relationship with Josh. Mostly, Josh teaches me to allow myself to be loved, to love, to have fun, to LIVE life with joy today and hope for tomorrow. Even in his darkest times, he is my light. ( I love you babe! Thank you for being mine!)
Our girls think he is pretty special, too. While Josh was sleeping before work, Elaina made him a Birthday cake with a little help from mom. (You did a great job sweetie... and SO delicious!) Sydney was sick with Tonsillitis that day, but still tried to celebrate with the rest of us. She loves her daddy. We all do!
Happy Birthday Josh!

Ten Waterfalls of 2010...
Number TWO...
Fairy FallsOur next waterfall is located in Yellowstone National Park. the trailhead is about one mile south of Midway Geyser Basin. It is a 2.6 mile hike through burned down forest, to get to the spectacular Fairy Falls. Fairy Falls is a 197 ft drop off Madison Plateau, on Fairy Creek. We made it to the trailhead at about 10:30am. If I had to do it over again, I would have left earlier in the morning, as there is very little forest canopy and it was very hot. The total trip was 5.2 miles. With the two girls, it took us 4 1/2 hours round trip. It could easily be done faster, since the trail is more like a gravel bike path the entire way. This was a great hike for us to really understand our children's limitation. For these two girls, five miles is about their maximum, especially on a hot day! I can't wait to see waterfall number three!

THE TEN WATERFALLS OF 2010....
We hiked to Donut Falls, on June 23, 2010. this waterfall is located nine miles up Big Cottonwood Canyon, near Salt Lake City. Once you have gone nine miles, you will turn right down a road toward Jordan Pines picnic area. It is a perfect starter hike, especially if you have little children. Total hike is 1.5 miles. The trail is well groomed with trees overhead most of the way. There is one section at the end, where you have to climb over some large boulders. If you worry about breaking a hip, I would turn around at this point. A great hike!
In an effort to be more active this summer, our family has made a goal to visit ten waterfalls by the time school starts in the fall. Here is waterfall number ONE..

Josh ran in the TO BONE AND BACK relay, with some friends from work. The girls and I were there all day to cheer them on. We even stopped to take a picture by one of the windmills that highlight the landscape along the way. It was 40 miles of non-stop fun...well I can't really say that, since I didn't run. However, we did get some ice cream when we got back! Way to go babe! We love you!
Grandpa and Jamma Glasscock come to visit
In June, Grandpa and Jamma Glasscock came to see Amy, after she had a baby boy. He is gorgious, by the way! Anyway, we were able to see them while we were here. I was thrilled! The whole family is looking forward to our trip to Palm Springs this month to hang out with Adam and his family for a week! Yeah!
